Weekdays

Brewer apparently LOVES doggy daycare. We just started bringing him to So Doggone Good in Sandwich, MA. Being the young pup that he is, we thought we’d take him there once a week to release some energy and socialize him among other dogs.

Today was really just Day 2, but Gary’s reports of the drop-off/pick-up process make it clear that Brewer is having a blast! I wonder who his buddies are. Does he rest at all? I wish they had a webcam like most city daycares do.

Did you watch the Westminster Dog Show this week? Two of our favorite categories were obviously the hounds and the working dogs! It is becoming more and more clear to us that Brewer is a Plott hound, with his “well-muscled body, long tail carried high, large and long ears and webbed feet.”

One thing that uplifts my soul during this pure-breed extravaganza is the active participation of the Pedigree Foundation, with its fundraising and pet-adoption commercials. I’ll admit, though, I cry through many of their commercials. They always manage to go just far enough to jostle your heart-strings, but not too far so that you’re looking away and humming loudly (me, during Sarah McLachlan’s commercials).

Congrats to Stump, the oldest pup to ever win Best-in-Show!
