Reading List

It seems I have books coming in faster than they are going out…

Between the work of my day job, the commute, my love of photography (and dog rubs!) and my new addiction to knitting, I haven’t been taking a lot of time to ready lately. I do read on my commute and when I crawl in to bed each night, but I’m only good for about 20 pages before I’m fast asleep in either situation.

I’ve started three of these books, and finished the top one since taking this photo over the weekend (thanks to Melissa at Yummy Goods for letting me borrow!). One of my favorite types of reading is that of international cultures – fact or fiction, because I learn so much through either. Just Like Us is a true account of four young Mexican girls growing up in the U.S., two with legal documentation and two without. Mountains Beyond Mountains seems like a timely read, when so much is happening in poverty-stricken Haiti. I know it won’t be a happy “story”, but one of awareness.

What’s on your shelves right now?

Carrie - I just finished A Thousand Splendid Suns and have moved on to World Without End. Apparently I’m on a sequels kick!

Thuy - I’m half way through “The Shadow of the Wind.” It’s wonderful…I wish I had more time to read.
