Adopt: Abigail + Jack

Well, hello good friends! It has been a while. I’ve kept the Facebook page updating in the meantime, but this past fall and winter was a bit of a rest before the jump back into the busy-ness for Cold Nose Photo!

See, what happened was a dog client asked me to photograph an event, and then a friend asked me to photograph a wedding….. and well, WOW. Who knew that this would turn in to over 20 weddings a year (almost all for dog lovers, thank you very much :-)). Since I was also working a full-time corporate job last year, it became pretty impossible to keep up with everything. But it’s a new year, a new spring, and finally a year 100% devoted to photography!

I will start to catch you up on the private dog sessions I’ve been doing as well, but I figured what better way than to start with current adoptable dogs from the Animal Rescue League of Boston‘s Cape Cod branch! This is Jack!

I’m helping the Animal Rescue League to host its second-annual Paws for Celebration event, coming up this May 6th at Nauset Regional Middle School in Orleans! We had over 1500 attendees and their dogs last year, and the activities, raffle prizes and humungous goody bags are sooooooo seriously amazing. I’d love it if you could donate or join our Cold Nose Photo team virtually, but even better if you can join our team as a walker and come enjoy a beautiful Sunday at the event!

Cold Nose Photo itself has donated a free photo session to anyone who raises over $1,500 AND four Red Sox tickets to be raffled off. Our presenting sponsor is Nauset Pet Services, and other great friends who are involved include The Cape Cod Dog, Agway of Cape Cod, Eventful Connections, Brewster Bookstore, Polka Dog Bakery, Natura Pet, Merrick Pet Foods, Cape Cod Underdogs, the Animal Hospital of Orleans, Nauset Disposal, Howl-A-Day Inn and the Cape Animal Referral & Emergency (CARE) Center.

There’s still time to join if you’re a local business owner with a big heart for animals! (you can use the “contact” tab and reach right back to me)

And this is Abigail – WHAT a sweetheart with all her paws and kisses…

Both Jack and Abigail are available for adoption now, so stop by the Brewster shelter for a visit. Otherwise, maybe they’ll find you at the Paws for Celebration event!

Speck on the Pier

I’ve had the extreme pleasure of knowing Speck and Kay for three years now, and that makes three holiday cards created for Speck to woo his friends! He’s getting pretty good at this modeling thing, eh?

We ventured out on the pier in Marshfield, MA, where Kay and Speck say hello to all of their fishermen friends daily. I think we need to keep the holiday card top secret for now, because it’s an annual surprise for over 550 people!

Thanks for another amazing morning together, Kay and Speck! I always look forward to seeing you guys!

Kay Ramsey - Believe it or not, I just now (5/15/12) saw this. Thanks to Stacey for taking the beautiful pictures of my “big boy”. (Soon to be doing another picture. And thanks to FPP for bringing him into my world.

Elliot + Emma at Bourne Farm

Elliot and Emma are two of the most adorable Jack-Russell Terriers, and I had a wonderful time walking around Bourne Farm with them and their family this September!

Bourne Farm is a gorgeous piece of property in Falmouth, and it leads to lots of dog-friendly trails as you walk toward Buzzards Bay. I have yet to bring my own dogs, but I hear wonderful things from the dogs I’ve met there!

I kinda fell madly in love with Elliot’s mohawk. You would never know it, but this little guy was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. We’ll be keeping him in our thoughts, and I can see his family showers both the dogs with love every day!

A few more of Elliot…

What a beautiful time of year and time of day for a walk with these guys, thanks so much to the Sabens family!

For as much as I’ve been missing from the blog lately, dog sessions for the remainder of 2011 are almost completely filled. I’m still happy to help with custom gift certificates for the holiday season as well, so reach out soon if you know the perfect someone for a session! Hope you’re all enjoying the fall season, and getting your dogs back out on the Cape beaches :-)

Carol - Jacks are my all time favourite breed of dog, such character and these two look like they have it in abundance. What darling faces. Elliot and that hair, what a style! I hope he has a long time yet to run through the fields and play. Beautiful photographs!

Thanks for standing by…

Well HELLO there! I’m really terribly sorry that I’ve been neglecting this blog for a bit, but rest assured there is a LOT going on in the Cold Nose Photo world these days!

Your average dog portrait session takes a back seat in the summer months, when everyone’s schedules are mixed up, it’s hot, and dogs aren’t allowed on the Cape beaches. I’ve been filling my time, though, by photographing many of my upcoming wedding couples WITH their dogs!

I’m about to do a bit of traveling through Denver and Banff, AB for the month of August, but will be sharing some adorable dogs with you along the way. In the meantime, I’ve been playing with film so much in my personal work, and here are a few shots of our own lab/hound mix Brewer!
