I’m incredibly happy to be a co-chair on the committee planning this year’s Paws for Celebration event for the Animal Rescue League of Boston’s Cape Cod branch! The event took a break for the last few years, but we’re bringing it back and having SUCH a blast doing so!

We have some amazing activities planned – a group walk along the beach, demonstrations, games, contests, crafts for kids – AND we have emcee talent from Dan & Stephanie from the WCOD morning show and Chris Lambton from ABC’s The Bachelorette!! The long list of raffle prizes is also damn incredible – thanks to all the local businesses who are participating (including a full session from Cold Nose Photo!)! Gary’s birthday was in October, and I reached out to the lovely Sarah Peters who I had met briefly at the Hounds at Highfield event earlier this summer. She handcrafts Snoot Prints! Bronze, resin or even silver imprints of your dog or cat’s nose!

We met one day for a quick Playdough impression of Brewer’s snoot – and look what came of it!

This is the bronze version, and Brewer’s measures about 2 1/2 inches in diameter. He looks pretty pleased with himself, doesn’t he?

It’s finally here! I’m excited to show you the second-annual Dogs of Cape Cod calendar!

This year’s calendar proceeds will go to an organization that has been HUGELY supportive of me over the last year – Friends of the Plymouth Pound!

The photos depict a variety of dogs enjoying our coastal landscape, and most were adopted through Friends of the Plymouth Pound! January kicks off with Gayle and Tom’s own sweet dogs, Heaven and Peaches. November’s dog, Princess, died suddenly this year of heart failure and will be greatly missed. Locations include the boardwalk in Sandwich, cranberry bogs in Plymouth, and old boats in Onset. Each of these dogs were lucky enough to have a photo session with Cold Nose Photo in the last 12 months – now getting their moment to smile and support their friends in need!

I arrived in Los Angeles today, and you know the first e-mail I received when I landed?!! Provincetown’s Bark Park and MY PHOTO are in today’s (SUNDAY) LA Times newspaper!

The full awesome article about Provincetown’s dog-friendliness can be found HERE. How exciting, and so totally coincidental. I arrived at my hotel at 11pm, though, and all print copies are gone. I must track one down.

Quickly running out of time in this day, and for that matter, this week. But I couldn’t let the two-year anniversary of this blog pass without a post!

You may remember my trek out to visit the new Pilgrim Bark Park in Provincetown last August, and the fundraising event where my photos of Lily Tomlin appeared in Dog Fancy magazine. Well I’m happy to also share the park photos with the Provincetown Business Guild, and their promotional publication just came out this month!

If you’re looking for a mini vacation with your dogs, Provincetown and its shop owners are not just dog-friendly  but dog LOVING. The Bark Park website lists many of the resources and activities to check out. I know I look forward to heading out there again to say hi to all the tail-wagging friends we’ve made!

As you may know, I have a special photo project that has been ongoing through 2009, despite the lack of posts to the website. Dogs of Cape Cod was always meant to result in a calendar, and perhaps someday a book. For 2010, I’m kicking off the inaugural calendar, and I hope you’ll join me in the fun!

It was important to me that the photos depict a variety of dogs enjoying a variety of Cape activities and locations. You’ll find dogs of all shapes and sizes, from Plymouth to Provincetown. Two were photographed at the Animal Rescue League in Brewster. January’s photo is a lab who’s currently fighting cancer. During February, you’ll catch a glimpse of three friends at the new Pilgrim Bark Park.

Well I’llllllll BE! Cold Nose Photo wasn’t even on the list of choices when Beantown Tails launched their 2009 Readers’ Choice survey, but thanks to write-in votes, we made the jump right to first runner-up as Boston’s Best Pet Photographer!!  THANK YOU so much to everyone who voted!!

I started this site a year and a half ago, but business really kicked into high gear this past spring. Would you believe that the first time I felt truly legit was when I received 500 stickers with my logo on them?! I mean, that was way more monumental than even my own tax identification number.

I’m so grateful for all that has come into my life over the last 18 months, and crazy excited for all that’s still ahead. You guys – and your pets – are the BEST company a girl could ask for. THANK YOU!!
