Gary’s birthday was in October, and I reached out to the lovely Sarah Peters who I had met briefly at the Hounds at Highfield event earlier this summer. She handcrafts Snoot Prints! Bronze, resin or even silver imprints of your dog or cat’s nose!

We met one day for a quick Playdough impression of Brewer’s snoot – and look what came of it!

This is the bronze version, and Brewer’s measures about 2 1/2 inches in diameter. He looks pretty pleased with himself, doesn’t he?

Visit SnootPrints.com yourself and contact Sarah if you’re interested! Even if you aren’t local to Cape Cod, Sarah will work to get the necessary impression sent through the mail. Keep in mind, these take a few weeks to complete. Please keep me posted if you ever get one!

It’s finally here! I’m excited to show you the second-annual Dogs of Cape Cod calendar!

This year’s calendar proceeds will go to an organization that has been HUGELY supportive of me over the last year – Friends of the Plymouth Pound!

The calendar cover:

The photos depict a variety of dogs enjoying our coastal landscape, and most were adopted through Friends of the Plymouth Pound! January kicks off with Gayle and Tom’s own sweet dogs, Heaven and Peaches. November’s dog, Princess, died suddenly this year of heart failure and will be greatly missed. Locations include the boardwalk in Sandwich, cranberry bogs in Plymouth, and old boats in Onset. Each of these dogs were lucky enough to have a photo session with Cold Nose Photo in the last 12 months – now getting their moment to smile and support their friends in need!

The back of the calendar, showing our 2011 models!

The calendar is full-color and measures 9×12″ with a saddle-stitched fold. Standard U.S. holidays are included. Price does not include tax and shipping.

You can now pre-order the calendar, and I’ll be aiming to ship or deliver all before Christmas! Use the arrows below to choose one or five calendars, and don’t forget holiday gifts!

**UPDATE**

Calendars are now shipping out next-day! They are also available at the following local shops:
Plymouth—Healthy Appetites on Long Pond Road
Manomet–Rose & Vicki’s Bakery and Sub Shop

You may remember my trek out to visit the new Pilgrim Bark Park in Provincetown last August, and the fundraising event where my photos of Lily Tomlin appeared in Dog Fancy magazine. Well I’m happy to also share the park photos with the Provincetown Business Guild, and their promotional publication just came out this month!

If you’re looking for a mini vacation with your dogs, Provincetown and its shop owners are not just dog-friendly but dog LOVING. The Bark Park website lists many of the resources and activities to check out. I know I look forward to heading out there again to say hi to all the tail-wagging friends we’ve made!

**UPDATE: The same day I posted this, I learned that Dog Fancy voted Pilgrim Bark Park second best dog park in the United States! Apparently one of my photos has hit Dog Fancy pages again, weeee! Must go track one down!**

As you may know, I have a special photo project that has been ongoing through 2009, despite the lack of posts to the website. Dogs of Cape Cod was always meant to result in a calendar, and perhaps someday a book. For 2010, I’m kicking off the inaugural calendar, and I hope you’ll join me in the fun!

It was important to me that the photos depict a variety of dogs enjoying a variety of Cape activities and locations. You’ll find dogs of all shapes and sizes, from Plymouth to Provincetown. Two were photographed at the Animal Rescue League in Brewster. January’s photo is a lab who’s currently fighting cancer. During February, you’ll catch a glimpse of three friends at the new Pilgrim Bark Park.

The calendar is full-color and measures 9×12″ with a saddle-stitched fold. Standard U.S. holidays are included.

There is currently a “purchase” button at the top of this blog. If you don’t see it, click “home”.

Here are the months in all their canine glory!

Well I’llllllll BE! Cold Nose Photo wasn’t even on the list of choices when Beantown Tails launched their 2009 Readers’ Choice survey, but thanks to write-in votes, we made the jump right to first runner-up as Boston’s Best Pet Photographer!! THANK YOU so much to everyone who voted!!

I started this site a year and a half ago, but business really kicked into high gear this past spring. Would you believe that the first time I felt truly legit was when I received 500 stickers with my logo on them?! I mean, that was way more monumental than even my own tax identification number.

I’m so grateful for all that has come into my life over the last 18 months, and crazy excited for all that’s still ahead. You guys – and your pets – are the BEST company a girl could ask for. THANK YOU!!

Please check out the rest of the list, and consider who you might like to see here in 2010. Bostonians love their pets, and it’s awesome to see our local businesses thrive. Shouts to my friends at Polkadog Bakery for being voted the best pet bakery! How cool is it that we have pet bakeries in this world!?

I wanted to be sure and acknowledge the fact that it’s mid-OCTOBER (despite what my cucumber plants are saying) and share some holiday card ideas with my past and upcoming clients. All cards are completely customizable, and that goes for colors and fonts, and more.

First is a selection of vertical folded cards – you’ll see the front, the middle spread, and the back.

Here are some flat cards, where you can choose your front, and the back will take on a similar texture.

The following are examples of folded horizontal cards. This first one is a bit non-traditional in color, so I’ve shown you what I mean when I say all colors are customizable.

Enjoy this little peak for now, but there are many more things we can create together to match your holiday spirit in 2009! Please allow for a two-week turnaround on custom holiday greetings.

Had a wonderful conversation with Paul Gauvin, business writer for the Barnstable Patriot, and the resulting feature article came out in today’s issue! You can link to the full article HERE.

I gotta say… I just picked up a few print copies at the village store and WHOA! The article – and the photo – are huge!!

What’s even cooler, however, is the fact that I grew up in this town, and have been in the Barnstable Patriot through elementary school, middle school and high school for various activities such as crafts, clubs and sports. We were so used to having their photographer on the sidelines among our parents. Now that I’m back here (as of five years ago), it’s really an honor to see myself in this paper again!

Welcome to all new friends who stop by the Cold Nose Photo site today! I hope you’ll stick around!

I had the pleasure of adventuring off to Provincetown’s new Pilgrim Bark Park yesterday to capture photos for the park’s website and for the upcoming benefit event with Lily Tomlin on August 29th! What a great group of people and dogs!

For the entire collection of images, please click over to the Flickr group HERE!

The park is beautiful! The landscape is well taken care of, and local artists contributed to the design of benches and play things. It is separated into two large sections so that small and large breeds can play separately if so desired, and both sides are handicap accessible. With the help of the upcoming benefit event, they anticipate adding shade structures as well.

I’m so happy to be included in such a beautiful space, setting the standard as we bring dog parks to Cape Cod!
