Thanks to ALL who came out to join for the second-annual K95K trail run with the amazing crew at CapeK9Cardio! I had a blast and met so many wonderful dogs (and humans). The only thing better would be if I could run it myself with Brewer!

Last weekend was the annual Friends of Plymouth Pound dog walk and cookout! Always a great time had by all, and this time there was even sunshine!

It’s incredible how huge and welcoming the FPP community is. This was my second year participating in the event, and it was incredible to recognize so many of the furry faces from a year ago! Not to mention, many of the FPP dogs have come back for photo shoots throughout the year, and I think I have enough for 12 months of the 2011 calendar! (more on that soon)

The two dogs on the left, below, were surprised with their very own photo session when they showed up at the dog walk! Sneaky Dad had pre-arranged a birthday gift for Happy Mom, and I can’t wait to meet up with them this October on the beach for photos!

On the right is Brewer thoroughly enjoying his doggy massage… love that look.

Sunday was my first time attending as a vendor at the Hounds at Highfield event in Falmouth, MA – and what an incredible turnout it was!! It was so fun to meet so many of my dog-loving neighbors and be able to give each of their pups a scratch.

As a runner myself, it was even more exciting to be a part of the first-annual 5k for dogs that took place in the morning before the festivities! I snapped away with the camera throughout the run, and also donated full sessions to the top male and female winners. All proceeds from the K95K went to the Friends of Falmouth Dogs in their 20th year anniversary of helping our local pets.

Brewer was excited to be there, but he and his dad didn’t run because of their helper duties at my booth that morning :-)

Laying down at the starting line? I guess it’s a good training method, because Hina was among the top finishers of the run!

It was a beautiful morning for a run and the day of activities. Very humid, but with an ocean breeze and that Cape Cod haze over head.

Our friends at CapeK9Cardio did an excellent job of managing the run, and there was plenty of water and nourishment post-race for both humans and dogs. You know these guys had a good long nap back home that day!

Road races are including dogs more and more these days, and I’m so happy to now have one near our home! Do a quick search yourself, and I hope you find a run in your town too! If you’ve already found one, please tell us about it in the comments section below!

I’m excited to be a part of the inaugural 5k run this year, including humans and dogs! There’s a long list of other activity through the day as well, and Cold Nose Photo will be there with a booth and tons of photos & products to check out! I hope you’ll stop by!

Talk about an exciting photo gig! I’ve photographed Paul Pierce and the entire Celtics team before, but when I learned – just a few days before – that this particular event was going to be a Texas Hold’Em poker tournament I literally squealed!

I think it’s safe to say that a fun time was had by all who attended the event, with prizes and donations going to the CAVU Foundation. And wouldn’t ya know it… Paul won the entire thing!!!! 

So, it turns out there were some more two-leggeds that needed photographing last week… Lucky for me, they were very muscular legs belonging to our local New England pro athletes!

In this first shot, you’ll see current/former New England Patriots players Troy Brown, BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Vince Wilfork, posing alongside David Wood, the general manager of Willowbend Country Club in Mashpee, MA, and Denise Durham-Williams, executive director of One Family Inc.

Did these guys get professional smile training or what?! These pearly whites were shining throughout the whole event.

Also participating in the charity golf tournament was current Patriots tackler Matt Light. I’d like to say Matt was giving the “#1″ symbol here after his first tee-off, but he was actually saying “don’t worry, I’ve got it” after a mulligan shot. Sorry Matt!

I managed to capture Troy Brown horsing around with Julian Edelman – the young man drafted this year to Troy’s former position as Patriots wide receiver.

Several Revolution players joined the festivities as well, including Taylor Twellman who was lauded as Bay State’s #1 Bachelor the very same day!

Also in attendance were legends Steve Grogan (Patriots), Ray Bourque (Bruins), Luis Tiant (Red Sox) and Reggie Lemelin (Bruins).

… and Will McDonough was there, known most affectionately as “Tom Brady’s Best Friend“.

The course was gorgeous in the middle of cranberry harvest season, and the festivities included a longest-drive and putting contest. There was a silent auction and a short live auction during the cocktail hour and dinner, emceed by sports reporter Steve Burton.

And of course there was a DOG!!! This is Zeus, who’s calling in life is to chase geese! Thanks for stopping for a photo with the little people, Zeus!

Seen chuckling with friends and athletes throughout the event was a man we’ve enjoyed seeing around Cape Cod for quite some time. Paul Fireman is a self-made billionaire – former chairman of Reebok, owner of elite golf clubs such as Willowbend, and founder (with wife Phyllis) of One Family Inc., an organization focused on ending family homelessness in Massachusetts.

Comediennes Lily Tomlin and Kate Clinton performed for a sold-out crowd last Saturday night on MacMillan Wharf in Provincetown, to show their support and raise funds for the town’s new Pilgrim Bark Park!

Leading up to the event, volunteers staffed a silent auction of local gifts and art for the week! It was wonderful to see all the hand-made pottery, blankets, paintings and more that was donated from our fellow residents.

Tropical storms did nothing to hinder the crowd coming out to the furthest-most tip of Cape Cod for the occasion. Everyone was laughing and clapping the whole night through.

These are the beautiful women who are behind this park and this wonderful fundraising event!

I’m happy to say that my images of the park, and of the Animal Rescue League (Boston, Dedham and Brewster) dogs up for adoption were displayed on the screens in the tent, as well as within the pages of the event program.

With the wonderful support of these participants and guests, Pilgrim Bark Park looks forward to adding shade structures, turf and more to their beautiful space! Stay tuned!

I had the absolute pleasure of attending the New England Border Collie Rescue‘s 4th annual Dog Dayz of Summer event this past weekend in Stephentown, NY! What a beautiful location and well-organized event, and so many enthusiastic dog lovers coming from hours away in all directions to be there!

I photographed the dock-diving, the agility, the duck-herding, the sheep-herding, the freestyle and frisbee choreography… the list goes on and on!! Stay tuned for many more photos to come, but first I wanted to thank these adorable pups for stopping by the booth!

CONGRATS to black lab Lollie who won a full photo session in the raffle! Does she look ready or what?

I’m really looking forward to participating in the annual Friends of Plymouth Pound event on September 12th in Plymouth, MA! Cold Nose Photo is even on the list of special guests, so come join us and enter to win a free photo session for your pet!

Every dollar raised through the Annual Friends of the Plymouth (FPP) Walk for Animals is used to pay for veterinary care for homeless animals in the local foster care program and for maintaining its low-cost spaying & neutering program.

The walk concludes with a big cookout, and I hope to see you there!

I had the pleasure of setting up a display table and greeting my neighbors on Main Street in Osterville, MA, last night during one of the summertime Wednesdays on Wianno stroll events!

It was so much fun meeting a loving group of local dogs who stopped by for a cookie and a photo! Thanks to all who came out in the slightly-dreary weather – we’ll be back again in the sunshine!
