<p>I&#8217;ve had the extreme pleasure of knowing Speck and Kay for three years now, and that makes three holiday cards created for Speck to woo his friends! He&#8217;s getting pretty good at this modeling thing, eh?</p>
<p>We ventured out on the pier in Marshfield, MA, where Kay and Speck say hello to all of their fishermen friends daily. I think we need to keep the holiday card top secret for now, because it&#8217;s an annual surprise for over 550 people!</p>

<p>Thanks for another amazing morning together, Kay and Speck! I always look forward to seeing you guys!</p>

<p>Elliot and Emma are two of the most adorable Jack-Russell Terriers, and I had a wonderful time walking around Bourne Farm with them and their family this September!</p>
<p>Bourne Farm is a gorgeous piece of property in Falmouth, and it leads to lots of dog-friendly trails as you walk toward Buzzards Bay. I have yet to bring my own dogs, but I hear wonderful things from the dogs I&#8217;ve met there!</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="web bournefarm-34b" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/web-bournefarm-34b.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="533" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="web bournefarm-35" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/web-bournefarm-35.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="597" /></p>
<p>I kinda fell madly in love with Elliot&#8217;s mohawk. You would never know it, but this little guy was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. We&#8217;ll be keeping him in our thoughts, and I can see his family showers both the dogs with love every day!</p>
<p>A few more of Elliot&#8230;</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="web bournefarm-43" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/web-bournefarm-43.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="533" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="web bournefarm-40" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/web-bournefarm-40.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="533" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="web bournefarm-51" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/web-bournefarm-51.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="597" /> What a beautiful time of year and time of day for a walk with these guys, thanks so much to the Sabens family!</p>
<p>For as much as I&#8217;ve been missing from the blog lately, dog sessions for the remainder of 2011 are almost completely filled. I&#8217;m still happy to help with custom gift certificates for the holiday season as well, so reach out soon if you know the perfect someone for a session! Hope you&#8217;re all enjoying the fall season, and getting your dogs back out on the Cape beaches :-)</p>

<p>Well HELLO there! I&#8217;m really terribly sorry that I&#8217;ve been neglecting this blog for a bit, but rest assured there is a LOT going on in the Cold Nose Photo world these days!</p>
<p>Your average dog portrait session takes a back seat in the summer months, when everyone&#8217;s schedules are mixed up, it&#8217;s hot, and dogs aren&#8217;t allowed on the Cape beaches. I&#8217;ve been filling my time, though, by photographing many of my upcoming <a href="http://staceyhedman.com" target="_blank">wedding</a> couples WITH their dogs!</p>
<p>I&#8217;m about to do a bit of traveling through Denver and Banff, AB for the month of August, but will be sharing some adorable dogs with you along the way. In the meantime, I&#8217;ve been playing with film so much in my personal work, and here are a few shots of our own lab/hound mix Brewer!</p>

<p>This past week, I met a wonderful pair of yellow labs out on <a href="http://www.300committee.org/knob.htm" target="_blank">The Knob</a> in Falmouth, Finbar and Angus!</p>
<p>When we began our walk, Meghan and Sheri asked &#8220;So, how do you want us to do this?&#8221; I only mention it here, because it&#8217;s a question everyone is thinking and asking. The truth is, I&#8217;m just here to walk and play with you. I never aim to pose your dogs, or place them on some cheesy prop. My goal is to capture the same personality that you&#8217;re in love with every day, and the best way to do that is to just get out there and have fun in their favorite places!</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="woods hole falmouth dogs on the knob - 2" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/blog-knob-9.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="597" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="woods hole falmouth dogs on the knob - 3" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/blog-knob-11.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="265" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="woods hole falmouth dogs on the knob - 5" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/blog-knob-18.jpg" alt="playing with dogs on the cape cod beach" width="800" height="533" /></p>
<p>The Knob is beautiful, but the most special thing about it is that it&#8217;s open to dogs all year round! Most of Cape Cod&#8217;s beaches regulate that dogs keep out from May 15th to September 15th each year.</p>
<p>I can&#8217;t even imagine Finbar&#8217;s depression if he wasn&#8217;t able to swim laps in the ocean&#8230; (and I do mean laps!)</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="woods hole falmouth dogs on the knob - 6" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/blog-knob-19.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="533" /></p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1868" title="woods hole falmouth dogs on the knob - 18" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/bblog-knob-161.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="597" /></p>
<p>Angus was more the exploration type.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1870" title="woods hole falmouth dogs on the knob - 20" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/woods-hole-falmouth-dogs-on-the-knob-20.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="368" /></p>
<p>A nice family photo for holiday cards perhaps? You guys look like you&#8217;ve done this before&#8230;</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="woods hole falmouth dogs on the knob - 10" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/blog-knob-26.jpg" alt="dogs on the beach in woods hole" width="533" height="800" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="woods hole falmouth dogs on the knob - 11" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/blog-knob-32.jpg" alt="dog photos on the beach on cape cod" width="800" height="597" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="woods hole falmouth dogs on the knob - 12" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/blog-knob-36.jpg" alt="dog love on falmouth the knob" width="800" height="265" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="woods hole falmouth dogs on the knob - 13" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/blog-knob-41.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="533" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="woods hole falmouth dogs on the knob - 14" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/blog-knob-44.jpg" alt="cape cod dogs" width="800" height="265" /></p>
<p>Brotherly love. It&#8217;s almost time for us to start thinking about adding another pup to our family as well. I love the rough-housing, and the way they share their great finds (sticks, dead fish smells, all the good stuff) along the path of life.</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="woods hole falmouth dogs on the knob - 15" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/blog-knob-52.jpg" alt="dogs playing on the cape cod beach" width="800" height="368" /></p>
<p>Finbar, Angus, Meghan and Sheri &#8211; thanks for a wonderful Sunday evening walk on the beach! I hope you enjoy the photos of your boys!</p>

<p>On Sunday evening, I met up with <a href="http://howlingzoe.com/" target="_blank">Amanda</a> and Lucy for a walk on the Brewster Flats. We didn&#8217;t really plan for it to be the perfect low-tide time of day &#8211; pretty silly of us not to &#8211; but we lucked out!</p>
<p>Lucy isn&#8217;t exactly known for her love of the camera, so my own Brewer came out to join us (ie. distract her). They bounded across the flats having a grand ol&#8217; time! Can you imagine how great sand must feel under a dog&#8217;s feet?</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="brewster cape cod dog photography - 3" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/brewster-cape-cod-dog-photography-3.jpg" alt="" width="666" height="305" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="brewster cape cod dog photography - 2" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/brewster-cape-cod-dog-photography-2.jpg" alt="" width="666" height="497" /></p>
<p>Tis the season for oysters!</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="brewster cape cod dog photography - 1" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/brewster-cape-cod-dog-photography-1.jpg" alt="" width="666" height="221" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="brewster cape cod dog photography - 5" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/brewster-cape-cod-dog-photography-5.jpg" alt="" width="666" height="444" /></p>
<p>Lucy has been battling cancer for the last year, and I must say she&#8217;s doing a damn good job at it. Thanks so much for the great walk and chat, ladies &#8211; Brew and I wish you the very best on your adventure to Oregon!</p>

<p>Amy contacted me back in August, for a gift certificate to surprise her boyfriend on his birthday!  We met up last week to walk Town Neck Beach in Sandwich, MA with Hayley, Tonka ad Lily!</p>
<p>It was a drizzly day, which made for beautiful lighting out on the boardwalk. Each of the dogs had an entirely different personality when it came to playing with the camera. Here&#8217;s Lily striking a nice pose and smile. She&#8217;s smiling, I swear.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1825" title="sandwich boardwalk dog" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/lily-blog.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="667" /></p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1813" title="sandwich boardwalk dog photo-1" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/sand-pup1.jpg" alt="dog photographer beach sand" width="900" height="600" /></p>
<p>Here is sweet old Hayley&#8230; the closest she really wanted to turn here eyes toward me. I can&#8217;t blame her, since the scenery was so beautiful and she&#8217;s probably had about ten years worth of camera&#8217;s pointed at her. She&#8217;s the wise one.</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/web-boardwalk-3.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" /></p>
<p>This more closely resembles what I saw of Hayley&#8230;</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/web-boardwalk-4.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" /></p>
<p>And this&#8230;</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/web-boardwalk-8.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" /></p>
<p>Finally, meet Tonka! Tonka was quite a busy boy, and I have a lot of blurry photos to laugh about. Love this face!</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/web-boardwalk-5.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" /></p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/web-boardwalk-9.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" /></p>
<p>Many clients are initially worried about their dog&#8217;s behavior or personality, and I&#8217;ve heard that others may never even contact me because of the doubt we&#8217;ll get photos. But I can assure you that we&#8217;re going to spend a couple of hours together, just letting your dog be him or her self! We&#8217;re not trying for a perfectly posed shot &#8211; we&#8217;re there to capture the true essence of your beloved friend. I had so much fun with these three, and each of their unique ways of interacting :-)</p>
<p>Thanks for coming out on a rainy day, guys, and I hope you enjoy your new home in Texas!</p>

<p>I was out on an editorial assignment today &#8211; this gorgeous first day of spring! Artist <a href="http://greentwig.com/" target="_blank">Jennifer Morgan</a> lives in an eco-conscious home she built herself, and she paints in her fresh-air studio alongside Friday, a blue heeler rescue dog.</p>
<p>I love meeting incredible new people in this way, and I truly feel that every editorial assignment I get matches my personality to a tee. So fun!</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1817" title="cape cod artist dog" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/blog-of-fridays.jpg" alt="dog photographer editorial" width="900" height="667" /></p>
<p>I wish more of my clients would get in the photos with their dogs. It doesn&#8217;t mean you have to sit there smiling at me, but the photos are able to show the beautiful relationship between human and dog. Jennifer&#8217;s smile is definitely that of a dog lover!</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1819" title="cape cod artist dog" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/jennifer-3blog.jpg" alt="an artist photograph with her dog" width="900" height="600" /></p>
<p>You’ll find many more photos, and learn about Jennifer and her home in the upcoming “cottage issue” of <a href="http://capecodlife.com/" target="_blank">Cape Cod Home</a> magazine!</p>

<p>I traveled to Arizona at the start of February, to <a href="http://staceyhedman.com/arizona-exploration/" target="_blank">visit my best friend</a> and shoot a wedding! I was particularly excited to finally meet the adopted Jada, this little bundle who has been snuggling her way into the family for a year now.</p>
<p>A few glimpses from the times she <em>wasn&#8217;t</em> crawling into my lap&#8230;</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="arizona dog photography - 1" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/arizona-dog-photography-1.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" /></p>
<p>Arizona dogs have an entirely different playground&#8230;</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="arizona dog photography - 3" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/arizona-dog-photography-3.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="667" /></p>
<p>Jada&#8217;s back yard is spacious, fenced in, and full of children to play with. She looks pretty darn happy if you ask me!</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="arizona dog photography - 5" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/arizona-dog-photography-5.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="667" /></p>
<p>I hope Jada remembers me on my next visit to Arizona! Slobber slobber, kiss kiss&#8230;</p>

<p>Brewer took me for a walk this morning. It&#8217;s freezing and snowy and icy around these parts, but you can always count on a dog to get you out there in the fresh air and sunshine!</p>
<p>Okay, so I might have cheated a bit by going to a nearby peninsula of a beach and tossing the Chuck-It as far and as often as I could, but a tired pup makes for a much more efficient work day at home!</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="winter dog beach - 1" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/explore-brew.jpg" alt="dog on the cape cod beach in winter" width="900" height="600" /></p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="winter dog beach - 4" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/explore-4.jpg" alt="branches on the beach in winter" width="900" height="600" /></p>
<p>The foreground of this photo is actually the ice-covered sand, but it kind of looks like all ocean! (like an infinity pool&#8230; in a soothing resort&#8230; in a warm tropical country&#8230;. er, FOCUS!)</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="winter dog beach - 3" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/explore-1.jpg" alt="osterville beach in winter" width="900" height="600" /></p>
<p>I always love beach grasses more this time of year&#8230;</p>
<p><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="winter dog beach - 2" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/explore-combo.jpg" alt="cape cod beach grass in winter" width="900" height="667" /></p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-1787" title="winter dog beach - 6" src="http://coldnosephoto.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/explore-7.jpg" alt="winter shells on the beach cape cod" width="900" height="600" /></p>
<p>Thanks for the walk, buddy! My mornings wouldn&#8217;t be the same without you.</p>
