Cape & Islands Pet Shops

I make it to my local pet boutiques fairly regularly, but I started venturing further in distance through the advent of my pet photography business. I’ve made some great friends and professional connections – in fact I’ll even be hosting a studio day in Orleans this spring!

Any others I should have on this list? Just post comments below and even share your experience at any of the spots!

The Cape Cod Dog, Eastham: Specialty items for dogs and cats, including a large selection from Gourmet Dog Bakery, made fresh on Cape Cod, as well as a collars, leashes, toys, treats, accessories, beds, pet clothing, supplements and natural foods.

Uptown Dog, Falmouth: 100% healthy food and treats, designer brands of clothing and stylish accoutrements for four legged friends. The store makes the most of our beach lifestyle, carrying everything from Doggles to lifejackets to soothing spa products after a day at the beach.

Hot Diggity, Mashpee: A dog boutique where pampered pups find everything from designer dog collars to all-natural dog food to haute couture dog apparel. Authentic Red Sox collars and leashes, hand-blown unique dog bowls, handcrafted leather footstools, all-natural dog treats and indestructible dog toys.

For the Love of the Breed, Brewster, MA: Pet supplies, including natural, holistic foods for pets as well as crates, collars, toys, beds, blankets, supplements and more. Located next to the Animal Rescue League, the store also carries products for fish, birds, reptiles and rabbits.

Geronimo’s, Nantucket: Looks like Cold Noses was bought by Geronimo’s and will re-open this spring. I knew nothing of Cold Noses when I started my photography business, but I look forward to meeting the new owners. Geronimo’s itself offers “a comprehensive mix of both the practical standards as well as the latest trends in pet supplies and pet-themed gifts.”

Good Dog Goods, Oak Bluffs: The most “pet-friendly, owner-friendly and earth-friendly” products available on Martha’s Vineyard. The store offers clothing, accessories, beds, canine art, pottery, grooming supplies, organic treats and more.

http://www.capek9cardio.com/ – i can’t imagine paying someone else to run or walk my dog (that’s why i have them!) but I suppose it might be helpful for some people.

there’s a new doggie daycare in Falmouth too – but they don’t have a working site yet. i think it’s going to be biscuitsandbellyrubs.biz.

love the updated look of the site!

Kim Lucas - I would highly recommend Darlene at PC Pet Companion. Darlene has been our pet sitter from 2005 and cared for our 14 year old Golden-Shepard Mix “Kasey”; her compassion and care for our “baby” rates her an A++ in my book!

RoseW - Actually, CapeK9Cardio is a very organized, professional company. My personal experience with them has been very beneficial to me and my dog. They are polite, kind and professional. My dog gets some great excerise and I get peace of mind, knowing that she is in great hands. I have also used their pet sitting services when I have had to travel, and I felt so confident in the care that my dog & cats were getting. Much better than dropping the dog off somewhere, she got to stay in the comfort of her own surroundings. Plus I loved reading all of the notes on the service, they were great.
