Today kicked off my first of many regular visits to the Animal Rescue League of Brewster, MA. I can’t say enough for how friendly and welcoming the staff has been!
I spent time with four special dogs today, romping around in the back “paddock” making silly gestures and noises, squeaking balls and seducing with wholesome treats.
Here’s a little guy, Charlie, who was just treated to a donated grooming session and loved showing it off! He’s had some basic training, loves the car and has grown up around other adults and dogs. He’s still a little anxious, adjusting to his recent surroundings, but I’m sure a cozy home will help him rest easy!

Then there’s Sally – a big bundle of silky love! At four years old, she traveled up to Cape Cod from Tennessee, where many other Tennessee dogs live (including ours!). She’s clearly ready to assume her role as a chill New England family pet, and will quickly slim down her figure with just a few tosses of a stick on the beach. Look at those eyes!

Now Heinz! Heinz apparently gets his name from being made up of 57 flavors of dog breed, and what a gorgeous boy he turns out to be! He’s seven years old, such a sweetheart and very playful. He was loved very dearly, and his mom even wrote his birthday on the adoption profile – I love that! We’ve never had that info.

Last, but certainly not least, is Dudley! I’m still waiting to get more information in this guy, but he’s such a handsome and playful pup! He’s currently the lucky dog in the kennel to have extra bacon treats hanging outside his door to help him gain weight. I’m thinking this is a pretty easy task and he’ll be so happy when he finds his new forever home.

Hope you enjoyed a bit of change in format here, and maybe – just maybe – you know of a lovable home for one of these lovable mutts.
As always, many more photos can be found on my Flickr Page!
THANK YOU to Sandi, Dawn, Alicia and the rest of the awesome staff at the Animal Rescue League of Brewster!
